A 4 month infant old male child presented with multifocal convulsion . Child was breast fed. Investigations revealed hypocalcemia. Child was managed with IV calcium and anticonvulsants. Convulsion persisted inspite of IV calcium. X-ray wrist was normal. His intact PTH hormone was elevated [252pg,ml].Hence diagnosis of pseudohypoparathyroidism was made and alfa calcidol was started . Child is now seizure free. His elder sister is also suffering from seizure disorder. Her intact PTH was Less Than 1 pg,ml. kindly explain.
