Why is bone marrow aspiration not contraindicated in thrombocytopenia ?

BONE CORTEX IS RELATIVELY AVASCULAR AND THERE ARE NO CHANCES OF HEMATOMA

Bone Marrow is not contraindicated in thrombocytopenia irespective of the platelet count as the clotting mechanism is working normal. Apply pressure externally for 5-10 minutes by which the clotting mechanism will take over and stop bleeding.
