Ibuprofen - 10 mg-kg-body weight for the first dose, followed at 24-hour intervals by 2 additional doses of 5 mg-kg each. Indications of surgery: Ductal closure is indicated for cardiovascular compromise {ie, pulmonary complications} and for reduction of the risk of infective endocarditis {subacute bacterial endocarditis}and in patients with failure of medical line of management.
