What are the causes of increased salivation in infant who is developmentally normal? Can tongue tie be a cause?

Many things other thane tongue tie can cause excessive salivation in infant like moniliasis ,tongue ulcers,URTI ,adnoid ,teething ,croup and many other causes .

Tongue tie does not cause excessive salivation. Genetic disorders such as Downs syndrome and cerebral palsy may cause excessive drooling.

Isolated salivation in infants and toddlers is normal and is unlikely to be a sign of either disease or complications. It may be associated with teething. salivation in infants and young children may be exacerbated by upper respiratory infections and nasal allergies.
