SHOULD WE USE Terbutaline ,AMBOXAL COMBINATION IN INFANTS 3 MONTHS TO 12 MONTH HAVING COUGH WITH CREPTS WITH OR WITHOUT WHEEZ EMPERICALLY
0
Expert Answer :
FDA does not recommend the use of cough and cold medicines in children less than 2 years of age in view of potential life threatening side effects. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator and is useful only in case of bronchospasm or wheeze. It has no role in crepitations. Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent and useful to break mucus in case of thick secretions in a pneumonia. Again Ambroxol is not recommended in children below 2 years of age
