In last 6wks I have been seeing numberof cases from infancy to 6-7yrs. children presenting with paroxysmal spasmodic cough akin to pertussis. Some of them have presented after undergoing tr. elsewhere for 3wks or more. While some have signs of air way resistance others show no chest findings. Most have lymphocytosis but all of them have been immunised with primary and booster DPT. I put a diag of Pertussis Syndrome and use a brocho dilator, a macrolide and some times oral Pred. Comment on this vexed problem of chronic state of cough not less than 6wks.

It looks like pertussoid cough. A cough plate culture would be useful to prove pertussis.
