With so many new iron preparations in the market claiming higher rates of absorption, does the dose of iron for treating iron deficiency anemia remain the same viz-6mg,kg?

yes .until there are proper studies and results to estblish the safety of an increased dosage.

the dose of iron is on the basis of elemental iron which ideally will not change

The dose of elemental iron would be 6mg-kg in iron deficiency and 3mg-kg as supplement therapy.
