it is used in gall bladder diseases and some chlestatic liver ds.but for commercial reason it is mentioned for all hepatitis cases.

Ursodeoxycholic acid is an anticholelithic agent. It is used in the treatment of gallstone disease. Although there is no specific information of use of UDCA in children, there have been reports of use of this drug in Biliary Atresia, cholestatic jaundice following TPN and also to improve the efficacy of HIDA scan.
