there is definate role of probiotics in acute viral darrhoea, and in chromic diarrhoea associated with malnutrition.

probiotics are useless in acute diarrhea.some may develop lactose intolerence but continue feeding improve lactase synthesis.in chronic diarrhea normal function of villi takes time so may have some roll

As of now,practically there is no role seen in acute diarrhoea.probitics do help in ch diarrohea by replenishing the intestinal flora to some extent.
