what is the best drug for prophylaxis for malaria? Most for the visitors are prescribed mefloquine.

mefloquine is the most preferred drug because of single dose weekly -effective even in resistant malaria ,but have serious neuropsychiatric side effects -,in pediatric age group still the best would be chloroquine Plus - proguanil-,in adults who can not take mefloquine, doxycycline ia a safer alternative,as a whole mefloquine stands out to be the wider choice.
