Infective endocarditis is a rare complication of brucellosis and reported in 2 Percent cases of brucella. In patients, with hemodynamic stability, brucellosis can be treated with appropriate antibiotics.

a fatal complication of brucellosis-antibiotics used are doxy-streptomycin-rifampicin-tetracycline:-but in pediatric age group doxy ,tetra should be avoided and septran Plus aminoglycoside Plus rifampin can be used ,use of steroids in endocarditis remains controversial-surgical mamagement to replace valves is also needed at times with medical management.nowadays both medical as well as surgical tretment side by side are recommended keeping in view the mortality associated with endocarditis.
