yes.due to high pulmonary blood flow setting the intima and media of arteries get thickened leading to chronic changes leading to pulmonary hypertension. also the extravasation of fluids into lungs afftects the lung and leads to fibrosis and decreased functional capacity of lung.

not really, but if the condition is not detected as soon as possible, the baby suffers from progressive pulmonary vascular disease which is not always evident from physical evidence.
