is Ceftriaxone not used in 1st 3 mo. of age

Ceftriaxone is used in neonates. It is contraindicated in neonates with jaundice.

Not used because of risk of calcium deposits in kidneys resulting in renal failure if it is used along with calcium containing solutions.
Also displaces bilirubin increasin the risk of bilirubin neurotoxicity

yes ceftriaxone is not used in the first 3 months of life

Ceftriaxone is avoided in Neonate as it causes shlugghing of bile and increases the chance of Hypebilirubinemia,but if it is indicated with culture reports then can be used if no options left.As far age from 1-3 month is considered it can be used
