kindly provide more clinical data of your ptient. Could u pass on the pulse oximeter finding on your patients.hemoglobins with high affinity for oxygen can produce polycyathemia. Estimation of P50 value is supposed to be diagnostic. But this is quite rare condition, I wonder how many patients you have?

There are several causes of polycythemia. It is commonly seen in people staying at high altitude. There are other causes such as heart disease, bone marrow disorders or just due to no cause. Since the patient also has cyanosis and polycythemia, a respiratory cause should also be ruled out. Treatment will depend on the cause.
