How does blood cholesterol levels increase in children? What is the exact pathology?

Rise in cholesterol can be due to a variety of reasons. In Nephrotic syndrome, it may be due to deficiency of lipoprotein lipase. In familial hypercholestrolemia there is malfunctioning of LDL receptors.
