yes they could be in combination with Insuline In late stages where very high requirements of insulin is there or when pancreas is almost destroyed

type 1 DM is due a lack of insulin and insulin is the treatment. oral hypoglycemic only increases the sensitivity of insulin receptors and does not have a role in type 1 DM .

There is no role of oral antidiabetic drugs in Diabetes Mellitus Type 1.
