Can Levofloxacin b prescribed in comminuty acquired pneumonia in childeren aged 6mths to 5years in place of coamoxyclav,cefodoxime_?

Levofloxacin is not a drug routinely used in children. It is recommended only in children with MDR TB. One should not misuse it for community acquired pneumonia.

no can not be used for acquired pneumonia for children as it is not licensed except for inhalational anthrax.

We can use levoflox when it is resistant to regular first line drugs like amoxyclav,cepodox. It is similar to use of oflox in diarrhea and recent studies are not supporting cartilage damage with quinolones.
