A mother had Serum Rubella IgG And IgM positive Jan 2005. She had a miscarriage then at ten weeks gestation. Again her serum Rubella IgG and IgM levels last week are positive. How significant is this IgM which is still positive? Is it safe for the lady to conceive now or few months later? Thank you

i think there is no significance of the reports one year back as IgG titre are there.if we can know the dilution of the IgM and if it is not increasing it has no significance as far as rubella recent infection is concerned.

You must wait till the IgM becomes negative and the IgG shows a four fold rise. Please recheck the titres from a reliable lab.

rising titres and their levels can only tell the exact status!other causes of misscarriage should be ruled out.
