As per WHO drug of choice in MDR typhoid is Cefixime or Flouoroquinolone. Among the fluoroquinolones, both Ciprofloxacin or Ofloxacin is effective, though Ciprofloxacin may be needed at a higher dose due to higher MIC. In uncomplicated typhoid, oral antibiotic can be given. For severe complicated typhoid, the drug of choice is ceftriaxone.
