Why EEG is adviced 3 month after febrile convulsion{simple and atypical}_?
5
Expert Answer :
EEG is not necessary after febrile convulsion unless diagnosis is not certain. Further there is no need to wait for 3 months after a convulsion to carry out EEG though it may be ideal to wait for 4-7 days after a seizure to avoid misinterpretation of EEG due to transient changes resulting from any seizure.
