artesunate is the bestby virtue of both IV and oral routes of administration.In severe-complicated malaria its optimal blood levels and immediate availability for circulating parasiticidal action makes it the best choice.
Artemether,Arteether take more time for absorption due to IM route and maynot be right first choice in severe-complicated malaria,but quite acceptable and effective in less-nonsevere malaria and in situations of nonavailability of IV rote.
