Antisnake venom needs to be given as soon as the patient has had a snake bite and not after symptoms develop. Anti-venom acts only against circulating toxin, not toxin fixed to tissue. In case of neuro toxic signs and symptoms, atropine followed by neostigmine intravenously should be given to reverse muscle paralysis.
