what is pencil sign in x-ray for stridor please show this finding

In acute laryngotracheobronchitis, there is a narrowing of trachea at subglottic region that results in normal air column above the narrowed subglottic region and hence resembles pencil and hence known as pencil sign - also known as steeple sign or hourglass sign. You may see picture of pencil sign in standard text book.
