The available information on the incidence of cancers by site in India have indicated that of incidence of cancer of uterine cervix among women is by far the highest compared to other sites in women. The cervical cancer burden in India alone is estimated as 100,000 in 2001 AD. The truncated rate {TR} in the age group 35-64 years in Chennai, India, is 99.1 per 100,000` 1982-95
