Expert Answer :
3 anti-malarials shall not be used together. The choice of anti-malarial and the route of administration depends on the severity of the disease {severe malaria in this situation} and the local drug sensitivity pattern. However, for a patient with severe malaria, the general reccomendation is to use IV Quinine infusion {IM if IV is not possible} till the patient can take orally. Thereafter, switch to oral Quinine to complete seven days of therapy.

Alternatively, a single dose of SP {if sensitive} or a combination of Artemether, Lumefantrine can be used to complete the course following injectable therapy.
