Expert Answer :
It is a spasmodic cough that leads to suffusment of face and even post tussive vomiting. The cough tends to increase in intensity over a period of weeks unless treated early. There may be an adult contact who may have had a URTI in the past one week. It is also called as 100 day cough. The diagnosis is by culture on cough plate. However mostly it is suspected clinically and treated accordingly.
