Can we use cold sponging in high fever, as it causes vasoconstriction but for heat dissipation we need vasodilation_?

What one could do is to apply cool towels to the areas of large vessels {neck, axilla, groin} as that can cool the blood in large vesselswithout causing the high degree of peripheral vasoconstriction and paradoxical centrally increased temperature.

yes. sponging icreases heat lose frm body thr evaporation. objective is to leave wet water surface repeatedly over body and let it evaporate wd body temp

no we cant use cold sponging,warm water sponging was acceptable but lately they concluded sponging has no role

that is why tepid water and not cold water is recommened

ONLY TAPID SPONGING IS ENOUGH.ACCORDING TO THE IAP ARTICAL OF FEBRUARY ISSUE TAPID SPONGING HAS NO ADDITIONAL BENIFITS OVER ANTIPYRATYICS.
