Can we give prasozin when the BP is not recordable and the pulse is very weak in a case of scorpion sting?

Yes it is mandatory to start prazosin at the earliest along with other cardiopulmonary resuscitative measures

Prazosin is a pharmacological and physiological antidote mesobuthus tamulsus scorpion venom action. Insuch case rapid hydration which is due to excessive sweating and salivation. If extremities are cold due to vasocontraction. In such case resusitate chid first with IV fluids and Dopamine and simiultaneously add oral prazosin provided child is not allowed to sit or mother should not lift the crying or agitated child which is routine procedure in Indian mother and villagers.
weak pulse is always asssociated with some recordable BP.
initial low BP with low volume pulse is due to severe vasoconstriction the BP may notbe recordable in such sitiuation PRAZOSIN must be administered to rectify the vasoconstriction.
It is suprrise to note that In our experience when the patient is in massve life threatening pulmonary oedema with low BP and weak pulse with cold extremities soon after unloading the heart with sodium nitroprusside the BP raised and pulse volume improves.
