A child has taken 1st Hib shot at age of 7 months, took 2nd shot at 8 months, 3rd shot at 9 months deferring Mealses Vaccine for 1 week. Will the unwarranted 3rd monthly dose likely to harm the infant? What about the booster dose?

no harm will be done to the child. booster dose to be given at 8plus12 ie 20 months of age. measles vaccine should be deferred for atleast 2 weeks

1} This 3rd unwarranted dose will not harm the baby because of this additional dose per-se.However routine adverse reactions can occur.
2}However it will render the measles vaccine less effective because the interval between these vaccinations is less than 4 weeks.
3}The child should recieve the booster dose between 15-18 months as usual.
