Regarding the question of 4 doses of HepB vaccine given to a baby,it will not cause any adverse effect. In fact the recommendation by WHO for countries where perinatal transmission is high is to start first dose at birth specially for India and to follow it up with 6 and
14 weeks or 6,10 and 14 weeks schedule. The last schedule is an
accepted one specially in country program situation where it may not
be possible to remember to give 2 doses following the 0 dose by a health workeralong with DPT and OPV .There may not be immunisation card always avilable with the parents.Hence 4 doses schedule can be followed.
