5 years old boy presented to emergency department as fever plus prolonged febrile fit and treated as such. The next day was still febrile plus deep coma. No history of trauma ,drugs or recent chicken pox. On examination,
nothing apart from fever plus deep coma which persisted for 10 days. Investigation done showed normal csf, normal cbc, negative Widal, normal chest Xray and mild brain atrophy on cat scan. EEG showed global dysfuntion. The patient was treated as viral encephalitis [iv zovirax plus Ceftriaxone plus steroid plus Mannitol plus ng feeding]. What else can be done for this patient?
