4months patient has fever and attack of convulsion from 2days she also has lower chest infection when admitted to our hospital she has attack of generalized convulsion she was given 2.5mg of Diazepam rectal then after 3 minutes another 2.5mg then the convulsion stop then after 10ninutes she has poor breathing ability is Diazepam conraindicated in this age or the dose is high _?

What was the weight of the child_? USually Diazepam is given in dose of 0.1-0.2mg, kg. Thus if the child weighed about 5 kg, the dose should have been about 0.5mg to 1mg.
