3.5 years old girl complaining of limping plus pain in the right hip. Ultrasound done showed hip effusion, not turbid. Leukocytic count elevated and ESR more than 20 plus fever. It was diagnosed as transient synovitis associated with otitis media and parents were reassured. Problem is that it recurred each month twice for more than one year after the first attack,and resolves within 3 days with Ibuprofen each time. Is it really transient synovitis_? {ANA, ANtiDNa were negative, MRI- No Perthes disease}.
