1 educated parents brought their child of 9 months for measles.they informed me that in past they have taken only ipv and not taken opv.they were asking me that in future should they give OPV or they should take only ipv.

what is your advice

Is the child based in India or in another country_? IPV is enough to give protection against polio. OPV is recommended as part of programme to ensure herd immunity and for eradication purposes.

This baby once received IPV but in future could take OPV and no need to go for only IPV.

they should be advised to take both...only ipv is enough for that child but opv especially taken during pulse polio will give herd immunity as well will be beneficial for the community..
