Halcinonide

Mechanism :

It is a topical steroid used in the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and acne.


Indication :

  • Corticosteroid responsive dermatoses

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to drug or class or components.

Caution in skin infection.


Dosing :

0.1% cream or ointment.

Adverse Effect :

Serious Reactions: HPA axis suppression, Cushing’s syndrome, hyperglycemia, intracranial hypertension, growth suppression.

Common Reactions: Dryness, skin atrophy, folliculitis, perioral dermatitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform dermatitis, burning, pruritus, hypopigmentation allergic contact dermatitis secondary infection striae, hypopigmentation, miliaria.


Interaction :

None.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are needed.
