What are the long term effects of renal pelvis dilatation due to PUJ obstruction?

Depends upon the damage caused by the obstruction before it is releived.
If there is bilater PUJ onstruction,. hydronephrosis and renal failure then there will be progressive damage. If not 100 Percent cure rate.

progressive encroachment on the renal parenchyma leading to a deteioration of the renal function...in the long term pateient will also be on the danger of developing renal hypertension.

Repeated attacks of UTI and further scarring of cortical mass leads to detoriation of reanal function if not attended to and may be renal hypertension
