Yes, sodium feredetate can be used for anemia in children, but I don't think it has a superiority to other iron products

Sodium feredetate has 66 mg of elemental iron vs 33 mg in fumarate and 20 mg in sulfate. secondly, it is a unionized form containing iron in ferric form so its absorption is not affected by phytates like inhibitors in food. This salt is suggested for the fortification of food products. However, no pediatric data is available to advise its use in children. Also, theory aside, foredate has been shown to be non-inferior to fumarate and not superior. Cost is another important consideration. To summarise-not useful over fumarate salts and not recommended in children till now.
