Can we use Propranolol i.v to treat SVT with heart failure, in infants if other methods for restoring sinus rythm like ice bag on face was not succesful or other drugs are not available?

Propranolol is one of the standard recommended treatment for SVT especially in infants in whom verapamil is contraindicated and digoxin should be used judiciously. Because of its sympatolytic effects it significantly decreases the heart rate but may mask the symptoms of congestive heart failure if present.
