A 9 YRS OLD BOY CAME TO OPD WITH COMPLAINT OF



SUDDEN ONSET ABNORMAL MOVEMENT IN HIS RIGHT
SHOULDER FOR LAST 4 DAYS.MOVENT IS SO OBVOUS THAT CONTRACTION OF MUSCLES COULD BE SEEN AT SUPRASCAPULAR AREA AND AT MUSCLES BETWEEN MEDIAL BORDER OF SCAPULA AND VERTEBRAL SPINE.ABNORMAL MOVEMENT PERSIST EVEN ON SLEEPING.THE IS NO LOSS OF CONCIOUSNESS.MOVEMENT IS PERSISITING FOR LAST 4 DAYS.THERE IS NO NEUROLOGICAL DEFECIT.IS TIS CHOREA OR FORM OF SIMPLE PARTIAL SEIZURE.WHAT SHOULD BE APPROACH TO THIS TYPE OF PATIENTS.WHAT INVESTIGATIONS ARE REQUIRED WHAT IS THE TREATMEN

Expert Answer :
Rule out epilepsia partialis continua since it is also persisting in sleep. Get an EEG and MRI done.
