Zinc Oxide
Mechanism :
It promotes healing of skin; provides barrier to skin from chafing & wetness and has weak antiseptic properties.
Indication :
- Skin protectant
- Diaper rash treatment
Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity to zinc oxide.
Dosing :
Topical:
Clean the area and allow it to dry, liberally apply a thin film to the affected area.
Adverse Effect :
Rarely any adverse effects have been reported with zinc oxide.
Interaction :
No specific drug interactions with zinc oxide.
Hepatic Dose :
No dose adjustment recommended.
