Clotrimazole

Mechanism :

Clotrimazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that inhibits the growth of pathogenic yeasts by altering the permeability of cell membranes.


Indication :

  • Fungal skin infection like athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole.


Dosing :

Available as 1% w/w cream, powder, lotion.
Apply 2-3 times daily for 14 days after lesions have healed.

Adverse Effect :

Occasional skin irritation or sensitivity, abnormal liver function tests.


Interaction :

No significant interactions known or found.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
