Tolnaftate

Mechanism :

It is an antifungal drug used to treat skin infections like Tinea (ringworm) of the feet, hands, groin and scalp. It is administered topically to treat onychomycosis (nail infections).


Indication :

  • Tinea corporis
  • Tinea cruris
  • Tinea pedis
  • Tinea versicolor

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to any component.


Dosing :

Use in children 2 years and above. Available as 10 mg cream or 10 mg/ml solution.
Apply to the affected area once or twice a day for 2 to 4 weeks.

Adverse Effect :

Stinging, irritation, sensitization.
