Discussion :
Right lower motor neuron facial palsy. Characteristic indications of a LMN lesion include marked facial asymmetry, smoothing out of forehead and nasolabial folds, drooping of the mouth corner, loss of efferent limb of conjunctival reflex {cannot close eye} as seen in this patient. Most common cause of an LMN facial palsy is Bell’s palsy. Other causes that one needs to rule out are tumors, Bacterial infections such as Lyme disease, Sarcoidosis , HIV and facial wounds.
