This child presented with painless maculopapular rash over both lower limbs and arthritis.

What is the diagnosis?

Discussion :
Henoch Schnolein Purpura (HSP). It is a vasculitis characterised by maculopapular rash predominantly over both lower limbs, buttocks and extensor aspects of hand. Patients may also have arthritis, GI involvement, hematuria due to renal involvement and CNS manifestations. It is diagnosed by IgA deposits on skin biopsy. It is usually self limiting. Steroids may be required for GI involvement, CNS manifestations and renal disease.
