Discussion :
This is healed lesions of herpes zoster. Herpses zoster is caused by activation of latent varicella virus. It involves the sensory nerves and leads to painful vesicles in the corresponding dermatome. It is rarely seen in children and may be suggestive of underlying immunodeficiency as is seen in this child who is also HIV infected. Treatment consists of acyclovir.
