a 4 month old child has received D P T and Hemophilus enfluenza B combined vaccine the vial used was already expired 3 months back.
What effects to expect,
Should we give it the same vaccine again_?
what dose and when if we need to give it.

Expert Answer :
A vaccine when used after the expiry date may not be potent and may not lead to development of immunity. One should watch for regular adverse effects of DPT and HIB vaccine. One should not count this dose of vaccine and give a fresh vaccine after ruling out no side effects to the present shot.
