A 2 half years of female having 3 to 4 episodes of severe cough per day for 10 days. Each episode last for half hour. Patient rolls up eyes due to severety of cough. Her TLC, DLC are normal and mantoux test is negative. X Ray shows prominent marking and streaking pattern around bilateral Hilar region. There is no fever and chest is clear. Patient is not responding to antibiotics and other symptomatics drug. What could be the reason?

Rule out pertussoid cough. If the cough is dry in nature, a cough suppresant may be useful. Also rule out hysteria.
