Naftifine

Mechanism :

Exhibits antifungal activity by selectively inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase in a dose-dependent manner; has both fungistatic and fungicidal activity.


Indication :

  • Tinea infections: Topical treatment of tinea cruris, tinea corporis and tinea pedis.

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to naftifine or any component of the formulation.


Dosing :

Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis:
Topical
Cream 1% and gel 1%: Apply once daily (cream) or twice daily (gel) to affected area and surrounding skin for up to 4 weeks.

Adverse Effect :

Burning sensation of skin, xeroderma, skin irritation, erythema, pruritus, application site reaction.


Interaction :

No known significant interactions.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
