Doripenem


Indication :

  • Complicated intra-abdominal infections
  • Complicated UTI
  • Bronchopulmonary infections

Dosing :

Safety and efficacy not established in children <18 years.
Neonates >32 weeks gestation:
10-15 mg/kg/dose IV in 8-12 hourly doses for at least 2 weeks.
>1 month:
20 mg/kg/dose IV divided in 8 hourly doses for at least 2 weeks. Max: 500 mg/dose.

Adverse Effect :

Anaphylaxis, seizures, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, anemia, headache, nausea, diarrhea, rash, phlebitis, elevated hepatic enzymes, leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombo- ytopenia, Toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.


Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
