CNS Hematoma



Question :
This right handed boy presented with sudden onset aphasia and 2 episodes of generalized tonic clonic convulsions with old left sided hemiplegia due to an old CNS bleed.



What does the CT scan show?

Discussion :
CT scan {brain} shows large hematoma in left frontal lobe with surrounding edema and mass effect on left lateral ventricle and midline shift. Old gliotic areas are seen in right temporal lobe and shunt tube on right side is noted. A bleeding disorder should be ruled out.
